About the Travel Rule Protocol
The Travel Rule Protocol (TRP) is an open standard for exchanging beneficiary and originator data between Virtual Asset Service Providers (VASPs) when a virtual asset transfer crosses jurisdictional lines.
TRP is aligned with:
- FATF Recommendation 16 — the "Travel Rule"
- IVMS101 (InterVASP Messaging Standard 101) — canonical payload schema for transmitting natural / legal person data
- ISO-3166-1, ISO-20022 name and address codes
What TRP guarantees
- Encrypted, signed callbacks (
x-data-integrityheader) - Deterministic retry policy with exponential backoff
- Two-sided KYC status (
originatorStatus/beneficiarStatus) - Operational telemetry through
